A-Select

OpenASelect supports the native A-Select protocol version 1.5, both as an IdP and in federated authentication using the Cross A-Select protocol. This is implemented in the A-Select protocol profile and the Remote A-Select authentication method respectively. The A-Select protocol supported by OpenASelect is can be found at A-Select Protocol.

A-Select compatibility

OpenASelect is a new system offering newer functions and a redesigned conceptual approach. For example, OpenASelect implements a strict distinction between protocols and operation. Regarding conceptual and syntactical compatibility with A-Select, migrating from A-Select to an OpenASelect implementation requires some attention. More information on how A-Select compatibility is configured can be found in the A-Select profile guide for IdP-mode and in Remote A-Select authentication method guide when using Cross A-Select in federated authentication schemes.

A-Select IC compatibility

The public A-Select ICs (Integration Components) such as the filter for Apache and IIS are compatible with OpenASelect when using the A-Select Server 1.5 protocol directly or indirectly when using the A-Select Agent 1.5.

Notes

  • OpenASelect supports the native, URL-parameter syntax API only. The SOAP 1.1 and SOAP 1.2 interfaces of A-Select 1.5 are not supported (see below).
  • OpenASelect offers an improved Webservice interface to the A-Select protocol. More information can be found here.
