About OpenASelect

A-Select, a former product of Alfa & Ariss that was continued by the SURF Foundation and SURFnet (http://www.a-select.org), has been widely deployed in the Netherlands. Having been implemented on many sites, it has become a de facto standard for federated identity solutions. Alfa & Ariss has been actively designing and implementing A-Select deployments throughout all market segments. A notable implementation is DigiD (http://www.digid.nl), the authentication service of the central Dutch Government, serving hundreds of sites while authenticating millions of users.

OpenASelect is the newest generation software from Alfa & Ariss for implementing federated identity authentication. OpenASelect is not an evolution of A-Select, but is rather a newly designed system offering far more modularity, functionality, and support for industry protocols and standards. It is the result of years of experience in the field.

With OpenASelect released under the terms of the Affero GPLv3 license, Alfa & Ariss aims to globally offer the most open, rich, and flexible authentication platform by addressing the shortcomings of other open source projects and products.
